THANK YOU The yearlong planning and execution of the 3rd Annual Greater Manassas Veterans Day Parade and “Welcome Home” Vietnam Veteran Community has been a labor of love for many of us. It is personal for us, the Vietnam vets who were not recognized upon our return home from the war. The public did not separate the war from the warrior and many of us faced hostile crowds. But that was then. Today we finally give my fellow brothers-in-arms the 'Welcome Home' they so deeply deserve. We also pause to solemnly remember the over 58,000 that did not make it home and the more than 1,600 who are still unaccounted for from the war-our POW/MIAs. I want to take this opportunity to thank all who served, the committee members, volunteers, the participants, the sponsors and donors who unselfishly came together to make this parade and 'Welcome Home' event possible" Parade Chairman Gunny Lewis (USMC Recon Vietnam veteran) |
